According to local tax regulation, effective from April 1, 2019, guests should pay accommodation tax surcharge directly to the property upon check-in (per person per night):

Accommodation tax of JPY 200 is charged at the property per person per night for room rate less than JPY 19,999.
Accommodation tax of JPY 500 is charged at the property per person per night for room rate of JPY 20,000 and over.
Please note that Luggage storage before check in is available between 08:00-12:00 only . Please contact the property in advance.Please note, the front desk is not staffed between 12:00-15:00 and during these hours, Luggage storage is not available.Please note that an additional charge of 1000 yen from 21:00 to 22:00 is applicable for late check-in.(If you wish to check in after 21:00, please contact the property in advance. However, the last check-in time is 22:00.)Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.An accommodation tax per person per night is not included in the price and needs to be paid at the property.
